Yosemite National Park is one of the jewels of the National Park system. Towering granite monoliths, deep glacial valleys, wide meadows, ancient redwoods, and rocky streams and rivers offer many different and ample opportunities for the photographer. No wonder it was a favorite location for the likes of Ansel Adams and John Muir.
Our accommodations are in West Yosemite, close to the valley, Glacier Point, and the Mariposa Grove of redwoods. We'll spend time in Yosemite Valley photographing El Capitan, Half Dome, the Merced River, Yosemite and Bridal Veil Falls, and also trips to Taft Point and Glacier Point and the Mariposa Grove of redwoods.
During the workshop we'll cover composition, learning to see the light, practice using our other senses to increase awareness and improve our photographs, and work on techniques like long exposure, using filters, blending exposures, and HDR.
Yosemite is about a 3.5 hour drive from San Francisco and 1.5 hours from Fresno. There is a minimum of 4 for this workshop and a maximum of 8.
