The human figure was one of the first subjects of photography and has been popular and controversial ever since. Artistic rendering of the human body is, on many levels, one of the most difficult subjects a photographer can attempt. This workshop is an introduction to photographing the human form outdoors using existing elements, ambient and added lighting, with emphasis on the fine art figure.

The location of this workshop has not been determined at this time, but will be within 3 hours driving time from Boise, Idaho. If you're interested in this workshop, please contact me and I will keep you informed about the location. I will be finalizing this as soon as possible.

In this 3-day workshop you will learn:

• A short history of figure photography
• Equipment options (portable lighting, props, reflectors, softboxes, flags, filters, PC cables versus radio triggers, etc.)
• Finding models
• Working with and retaining models
• Model releases
• Planning the photo session: Determining Theme and Concept
• Location Scouting
• Posing
• Lighting options

We will photograph at least 2 female models Saturday and Sunday. There is a minimum of 6 and maximum of 10 participants for this workshop. Every workshop participant will have an opportunity to work with at least two different models. Additional details will be provided following registration.

This workshop is for photographers serious about pursuing the art of photographing the human form and is open to digital and film photographers of all skill levels. However, participants comfortable with operating your camera in manual mode will receive the greatest benefit.

General Itinerary:
Day 1: 5pm start. We'll meet for a group dinner and discuss pre-shooting details and information, continuing after dinner.
Day 2: 9am - 5pm. Each participant will have multiple opportunities to photograph with the models during the entire session.
Day 3: 9am - 3pm. Photographing with models.

Fine Art Figure (Studio) fee: $375.00.
$100 Deposit due by March 15.
Balance due by May 1.

There is a minimum limit of 6 for this workshop and a maximum of 10.
