I've completely reinvented my class structure, breaking up my multi-session classes into manageable 2 to 2.5-hour modules. Now, you can select the module specific to what you want to learn, and in any order you choose.
I'm still offering the regular Photo I & II, Composition I & II, and other classes in the traditional format. But with the new format, you now have more flexibility!

This class lays the foundation from which to build a successful hobby or career in photography, covering the fundamental components of light, aperture, shutter speed, ISO, camera settings, and the exposure equation. More details on registration page.

This 10-hour class (over 5 sessions) explores the practical application of Photography 101 foundations. We alternate practical photographing in the field and in-class reviews. We begin with a camera operation and exposure refresher classroom session followed by photographing in the field. Then we're back in the classroom to review, another field session, then a final classroom review. Photography 101 is not a pre-requisite to enroll in this class, but to get the most out of this class you should have a basic understanding of camera operation and principles of exposure.

This seminar is for people thinking about purchasing their first digital camera or upgrading a current one. This 2-hour seminar is for people thinking about purchasing their first digital camera, upgrading a current one, or purchasing a gift for someone else. We'll cover the pros and cons of digital photography, explore brands and models available (DSLR, compact, mirrorless, micro 4/3rds, 4/3rds), their features, costs and accessories, and try to fit a selection of camera recommendations to your needs and budget. No sales pitches. This class is to prepare you for when you're shopping onine or in-store so you're less likely to spend more than you need to or buy something you don't want or need. Basic Camera Operation is a straight-up overview of your camera and how it works. We'll go over how to use the common camera settings like color space, image quality, autofocus point selection, vibration reduction/image stabilization, white balance, shooting modes (aperture and shutter priority) and the types of situations in which you might use them.
