This 3-hour class is all about one of the most useful and powerful features of Photoshop, layers and masks. Using layers and masks, we can make changes, adjustments, and modifications to image files to quickly fix exposure errors and be able to control where and to what degree those adjustments are made on the image, without changing the original image data. Layers and masks can also be used creatively to make new images (composites).
I'll define and describe what layers and masks are and their function. We'll cover the common layer blend modes to use for fixing exposure errors and making adjustments. We'll practice on the same image so everyone is on the same page when it comes to asking questions. At the end of this class you will have a good understanding of layers and masks, their uses, and how to begin to get the best results from applying them in your workflow.
